Claudio Palma (Brindisi, 1994) inizia la sua attività di fotografo nel settore pubblicitario e dell’architettura negli stessi anni in cui intraprende il percorso di formazione in architettura presso Politecnico di Torino. Nel 2020 conclude gli studi sviluppando una Tesi sul turismo lento e sul tentativo di ricostruire un dialogo tra ambiente urbano e campagna anche attraverso la fotografia, progettando quindi un cammino per la città di Ostuni. Subito dopo la laurea si dedica alle prime ricerche artistiche utilizzando il media fotografico insieme allo sviluppo della pratica del camminare, riconoscendo parte della genesi del proprio lavoro nell’atto del muoversi per lunghe distanze, iniziando una ricerca che continua oggi sui temi del paesaggio contemporaneo. Di questi anni i progetti Ostuni in Itinere, Frattempo, Lamie e La sottile linea d'ombra. Nel 2022 consegue il Master in Photography and Visual Design presso NABA a Milano, curato da Francesco Zanot, lavorando poi per un anno nello studio dell’artista Francesco Jodice. Con i lavori [in-ten-zio-ne] (2021) e Nostalgia (2022) esplora, attraverso un’operazione tra fotografia e performance, il legame tra gli esseri umani e gli oggetti fisici e culturali che definiscono il consumo smodato, l’accumulo patologico e la perdita di manualità.
Nel suo ultimo progetto in fase di sviluppo, L’età pensionabile (2023), esamina la relazione tra la vita lavorativa di suo padre e l’esperienza del Cammino di Santiago nell’età della pensione, tenute insieme da un’archivio fotografico da lui conservato.
Vive e lavora tra la Puglia, la Sicilia e Milano.

Claudio Palma (Brindisi, 1994) began his activity as a photographer in the advertising and architecture sectors in the same years in which he began his training in architecture at the Polytechnic of Turin. In 2020 he concluded his studies by developing a Thesis on slow tourism and on the attempt to reconstruct a dialogue between the urban environment and the countryside also through photography, projecting a journey through the city of Ostuni. Immediately after graduating he dedicated himself to his first artistic research using the photographic medium together with the development of the practice of walking, recognizing part of the genesis of his work in the act of moving long distances, starting a research that continues today on the themes of contemporary landscape. From these years the projects Ostuni in Itinere, Frattempo, Lamie and La sottile linea d'ombra. In 2022 he obtained the Master in Photography and Visual Design at NABA in Milan, then working a year in the studio of the artist Francesco Jodice. With the works [in-ten-zio-ne] (2021) and Nostalgia (2022) he explores, through an operation between photography and performance, the link between human beings and the physical and cultural objects that define immoderate consumption, pathological accumulation and loss of manual dexterity. In his latest project in development, The Retirement Age (2023), he examines the relationship between his father's working life and his retirement age experience of the Camino de Santiago, held together by an archive of his photographs preserved.
He lives and works between Puglia, Sicily and Milan.
